Plot: This is a Total Recall (great flick) retread. Instead of space throw in some clones and you now have Total Recall lite. There is more to the plot but it just doesn’t matter. A lame attempt to throw in the ethics of cloning dilemma, but if an Arnold movie raises your awareness about anything you are too stupid to find your way to Filmdudes.

It’s pretty bad when the only commentary you get is by the composer. How embarrassing is that, when the director won’t talk about his art. Poor guy must have gone into hiding after this thing tanked at the box office.

The Good: I always find near future movies kind of cool. If well done they kind of give you a few interesting glimpses of the future. This movie tries a little too hard to have the future gadgets, but it’s at least trying to do something cool.

The Bad: This movie stinks on ice. Arnold is way too old to do the action movies of his bygone days. He can barely run and the poor director and stunt coordinator seem to struggle with making it all look natural. When Arnold could pull off the action it was easier to forgive his terrible acting and worse accent. Memo to Arnold: it’s time to retire or run for Governor of California--anything, just get off my DVD.

The whole retread plot issue is an annoying issue for me. There are a million great Sci Fi books out there. The cyberpunk genre is rich in great little stories why must we be tortured by retread plots from other Sci Fi movies?

Bottom Line: This movie tastes of Arnold’s ass…. Rent Total Recall, it’s way better.
