Plot: This Cyber-punk thriller has Walken and Dafoe playing corporate recruiters. They hatch a plot to steal away the hottest scientist from a rival corporation using Asia Argento as bait.Special Features: All Regions,Color, Dolby, Widescreen, Commentary by director Abel Ferrara & writer William Gibson, Commentary by the cast & crew, Production notes, Theatrical trailer(s), Behind-the-Scenes Featurette, Photo Gallery, Interactive Film Trivia, Bonus Easter Egg Hidden Feature. This DVD is packed full of extra stuff but the movie is so bad it just doesnt really matter. The Good: This movie is ass deep in talent. Abel Ferrara (Bad Leutenant) directed this monster. I don’t need to say anything about the cast with Dafoe and Walken getting almost all of the screen time. Where did it all go wrong. There are some great monologues that Walken tears loose. Who cares what his character is doing or why, listening to Walken ramble is good enough. Enough about the guys in the film, let’s give Asia her due respect. She is walking viagra. If you are not moved by her whole package you are a dead man. I don’t even care whether her accent is real or not. The Bad: If you were to give a great director $12.00 and a great cast and a really bad script this is the movie you would get. I hope that all the problems this film has are due to a lack of budget. There is no action in this movie. When the action should be in the film a cast member narrates it to you.I love that we are watching a high tech cyber punk movie in this low-tech box. Bad video and a few Palm Pilots do not really draw me into believing that I am in the techno future. Love looking at Asia but unfortunately we get far too much of a half naked Willem Dafoe. Bottom Line: This is not a good film. I wanted to like it but can’t.Rating: 4 Boxes of Wine |
