Review: Tao of Steve

Dir: Jenniphr Goodman

Cast: Donal Logue, Greer Goodman (Co-wrote the picture)

Category: Indie

Reviewed By: Clay

Plot: Dex is a beer bellied joy guy who chicks love. He lives his life by the Tao of Steve. As the movie unfolds so does the Tao of Steve. If you need help picking up chicks this movie could be for you.

DVD Special Features: Color, Closed-captioned, Widescreen, HiFi Sound, Surround Sound, Theatrical trailer(s), Cast and Crew Commentary, Widescreen anamorphic format. Commentary on Indie films is always a crack up. If you got 2 extra hours go for it.

The Good: There are some witty observations and even a few good laughs. Every single guy I know is attempting to live his life like Dex. Not a bad little indie picture.

Donal Logue has been in about 30 movies but you will remember him from his MTV promos as the Cabbie. He does a good job with this movie. The bets were flying whether his beer belly was real or fake. No chicks I know are digging the monster belly so its presence is distracting.

I don’t want to spoil this movie for you but a great point is made to all the wild and crazy single guys out there….. All the dating theories are total bullshit. Every single guys has got his special formula for getting laid but in the end it’s all bullshit.

The Bad: This movie has about 20 minutes of good monologue and insight. Unfortunately they had to dilute it with an additional 60 minutes of fluff. This movie gets real slow at the end; you could doze off if you have been hitting the liquor.

Bottom Line: Every single guy should see this movie…. It will either help you get laid or get your head on straight.

Rating: Two Cocktails.
