Plot: Guy Pierce has lost his ability to form short-term memories. This disability is a real problem, since he is attempting to find the killer of his wife. In an effort to keep things straight, Guy tattoos the clues on his body. DVD Special Features: Commentary by director
Christopher Nolan, Theatrical trailer(s), Color, Closed-captioned,
Widescreen, Dolby, IFC interview with Christopher Nolan. Thank heavens Nolan makes a better movie than he gives an interview. While some of the things he shares about the movie are interesting, he is drop-dead boring. The newspaper special feature gives you a good handle on what really
went on in this movie. The Good: You will be thinking about this movie for days. This movie is hard to follow but the story is amazingly told. Once you get used to how this movie is put together it keeps you hanging on each scene. Guy Pierce is fantastic in this movie. His performance kicked ass on
all levels. Many of the things he does for the character are very subtle,
but it all works. The best part of this movie is the script. The fact that Nolan pulled
off the this amazing script is unbelievable. It would have been so easy to
screw up this movie but Nolan kept in on track. Congratulations to him.
The Bad: Stay away from the liquor before you turn
this one on. You must pay attention to this movie. If you are half
retarded or don’t like to think much, then put this movie away and rent a
nice Adam Sandler movie. Bottom Line: Buy this movie… You will want to watch
this film more than once. Rating: Five Cocktails |
