The Good: NOTHING! This movie SUCKS! SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS! If you walk past it in the video store and listen carefully, you can hear it gently sucking. Slurp slurp slurp. Okay, the sets are gorgeous and I liked the part where the guy got his head knocked off by the fireplace flue, but the rest of it SUCKED. Shirley Jackson must be spinning in her grave. If not, we should wake her up so she can.

The Bad: EVERYTHING! The script! The crappy, overdone CG effects! What a waste of Liam Neeson and the wonderful Lili Taylor, not to mention the impossibly cute Miss Zeta-Jones.

Bottom Line: Do yourself a favor and rent the 1960' s classic version of this tale, "The Haunting of Hill House." Better yet, read Shirley Jackson' s incredibly creepy book, The Haunting. Don' t waste two hours of your life on this bad special-effects orgy.
