Review: Shanghai Killer Dir: Definitely not John Woo Cast: Chow Yun-Fat Category: Hong Kong Action Reviewed By: Clay |

Plot: Government verse Chinese gangs or some crap like that. The first half of this sub-titled nightmare is about how wicked the Blood Clan is, then the second half of the film is spent looking for them. The best part is I could have kicked the Blood Clan’s ass.DVD Special Features: Available only on VHS…. Take it as a warning. The Good: I really have to dig deep to find anything good to say about this one. Here goes, at least it isn’t dubbed. It’s a small thing for us to hold on to but I don’t think I could have taken any really bad voice-overs. The Bad: No John Woo. No double .45’s. No Guns. This is not really a Chow Yun Fat film. I love Chow’s work but this is really bad. This film is old; Chow looks to be about twenty. This movie is so bad Chow never (that I know of) made another Kung Fu film again. Saying bad things about this film is like beating a cripple. No action, bad Kung Fu and far too many monologues without purpose. I can’t even go on with the madness. Bottom Line: Tastes of huge nasty ass…. Don’t do it. Rating: Four boxes of wine. |
