Plot: Bruce Willis is the sole survivor of a train crash. He is then approached by Samuel Jackson, a man who has an amazing theory as to why Willis was unharmed in the train crash. I will say no more because I do not want to ruin this movie for you.DVD Special Features: Region 1 encoding (US and Canada only), Color, Closed-captioned, Behind the scenes of "Unbreakable" Featurette, Seven Deleted Scenes with director's introduction, Comic Book and Superheroes Documentary, Train Station Sequence with Multi-Angle Feature & Sound Mix, An Excerpt From a Childhood Film of M. Night Shyamalan, 2 Collectable Alex Ross Illustrations, Booklet, Widescreen anamorphic format, Number of disks: 2This DVD kicks ass. The special features are well done and well produced. You get the feeling that M. Night really likes the DVD format because his special feature disks are worth watching. For comic book geeks there is vindication that comics are cool because Samuel Jackson, the coolest motherfucker around, admits to reading comic books. If only you were that cool! The Good: Every scene in this movie looks great. All the camera angles and lighting is done for a reason. This movie is tight and intentional in its look. M. Night has a great talent for setting a tone for a movie and keeping it.Bruce Willis and Samuel Jackson are great together. Jackson’s character steals the show. Every time he is on the screen I can’t get enough of his dialogue. I would love to tell you more about this movie, but I don’t want to spoil it. This is a great movie for anyone who wants a fresh perspective on an old topic. The Bad: This movie is not fast moving. It’s wonderful to watch, but those of you with attention deficit disorder will hate this movie. I have not spoken with anyone who has seen this movie who was neutral about it. You will love it or hate it.People will inevitably compare it to the Sixth Sense. Don’t go there. Bottom Line: Loved it, buy this movie.Rating: Five cocktails….. A Clay Pick!!!! |
