Plot: Colin Farell is a smart ass who doesn’t want to go to Vietnam. He is in his final train segment at a camp in Louisiana called Tigerland. The story is how Farrell the smart ass becomes a leader and finds a higher responsibility to his comrades. DVD Special Features: Region 1 encoding (US and Canada only), Color, Closed-captioned, Widescreen, Dolby, Commentary by Joel Schumacher, Theatrical trailer(s), Colin Farrell's screen testColin Farrell’s screen test didn’t really interest me and neither did anything else on this disk. The Good: Any movie that has drill sergeants is alright in my book. Lots of profanity, pieced together in new ways is educational if nothing else. The Bad: Farrell is a totally unbelievable character. He spends half the movie making fun of war movie stereotypes but this movie is ass deep in bad stereo types. No boot camp I ever heard of would have put up with half the dumb stuff going on in this movie. I got the sense that there is a hippie morality play in this bad script but who can tell. I think that the ending of this movie was actually lifted from the movie Hair in a bad sort of way. Bottom Line: Some how they managed to screw up a war movie… Don’t even bother renting it.
