night to watch all this stuff. The Good: This was a really good movie. I expected to see a rip off of "Kelly’s Heroes" (a great movie as well), by was very pleased with the different direction this movie took. This movie stayed true to the information we heard about how Hussein treated his people and how his army was organized. The director gave us a believable little window into the world of the Iraqi soldier. Occasionally, directors use some gimmick type film work. Usually it is mishandled and looks clumsy and out of place. You would like to think that this being their job and all, directors and editors would be adept at adding different film type effects into their movies. That’s rarely the case in my experience. This movie is an exception. The editing of the film effects and the use of styles was unflawed. There was no overly dramatic force use. Instead the effects were a highlight that seemed a natural progression of the movie, rather than a "time for effect now" feeling. The Bad: We didn’t get to see an Apache helicopter blow up stuff. Bottom Law: A great action movie with a smart message. Rating: 5 shots of all American Kentucky Bourbon. |
