Plot: A classic tale of revenge cut from the cloth of the spaghetti western and kung fu movies of the 70’s. DVD Special Features: Sadly there are next to no extra features. This will mean a second version of the DVD followed by a special double box set with Kill Bill Vol 2. I have it when they string us on. The Good: This movie rocks. For those who thought QT had lost his touch. Forget about it. This movie has amazing style and cool dialogue. This movie is the yardstick for which all other action films will be judged. It proves that you don’t have to have the most original plot to make a great movie. QT is taking risks with this movie. The animated sequence is very well done and delivers the plot points it is supposed to. You could not have shot that sequence and kept an R rating. Yes there is a truck called the Pussy Wagon. That alone gets it a cocktail. The fact that Uma drives turns it up a notch. Uma rocks. Everyone in this film is amazing. Great cameos through out the film. Love the scene in the sushi bar. Sonny Chiba is very good. QT gets actors to bring there A game. The Bad: The mix of over the top carnage (giesers of blood) and bone jarring violence is difficult for some to process. You will either love or hate this movie; there is very little middle ground on this one. Bottom Line: A classic…. Buy two… give one to a friend. Rating: Five saki bombers. |
