Plot: Nick Cage is a legendary car thief who has gone straight. He is living a pathetic little life until his brother gets in deep shit with the local Mafioso. In an effort to save his little brother’s life he assembles a team of car thieves to steal a ton of high-end cars in one night. DVD Special Features: Color, Closed-captioned,
Widescreen, Dolby, Theatrical trailer(s) The special features are better than the film, but that doesn’t say much. The Good: A great cast. You have got to love Robert Duvall anytime he is on the screen. There is a ton of talent in this movie. Rumor has it that the script was written by a dyslectic teen-age crack head as part of his work release program. Too bad, because the cast did the best they could. There are some really nice cars in this movie. If you are a car freak and love any movie with nice rides you will pitch wood over this film. The Bad: This movie is a car chases movie. It’s all about the cars and driving them really fast (I am ok with that). Unfortunately the aforementioned scriptwriter forgot to put in enough car chases. This movie needed way less attempts at plot and way more squealing tires. This movie really pissed me off. Not so much the film but rather the marketing of the damn thing. Watching the trailers you would have thought Angelina Jolie was a main character. She was in this movie maybe 10 minutes as a bad love life addition to this already miserable plot. Since Angelina was very hot when this film was being released the marketing swine blew her part way out of proportion. Death to the marketing department vermin!! Bottom Line: This movie sucked….. Don’t even rent the damn thing. Rating: Three Boxes of wine. |
